After 4 years of slow and not-very-steady work on this little counting book, it's printing is finally on the horizon! I will be accepting pre-orders through February 21st and will place my order with the printer at that time. A 7 inch board book counting numbers one through twelve, these Pocket-filled pages are just right for reading with pre-k counter and early readers..... or adding to your grownup collection of corgi-themed kid's books.

Did you know that I was a trained and published children's book illustrator long before I took up the felting needles? Felting has pretty well taken up all of my time for the past TWELVE years but around 4 years ago I started a little project.... and it all started with this first sketch of a hungry little Pocket wearing a cute little bow.

Well here we are many years later, and several of the characters in the book have passed away since I began it. I am MOTIVATED to finish the project before my number one girl also crosses the bridge. So here we are: it is almost complete, just waiting on the cover design and a deposit to a printer!

BUT I NEED YOUR HELP! As a self publishing author/illustrator, I'm taking on the up-front costs and basically just guessing how many copies I may be selling in the next year or three. I don't want to end up with 10 cartons of books sitting in my guest room! But I also don't want to get too few on the off chance i have a thousand fans wanting a copy! I have created a brief poll to help me gauge interest: (link in my story!)

A little about the book: "12 Eggs Make One Dozen" is a counting book, printed as a 7" square board book, perfect for little hands. I hope it will inspire young children to want to learn to read and to count. There are 'secret' elements within each illustration for counting and the illustrations themselves feature Pocket (of course) and many of her friends around my farm, including Piggly and Wiggly, the duckies, Spot and Ebenezer and assorted wild critters. The art is traditional media, light and sketchy and whimsical.
I am hoping it will be a must buy for my mobile clients and folks who love collecting books about corgis.

First Stubbin of the year is complete and TOO cute!

Little Cody joined his family last year so he gets a Stubbin to be added to my client's mobile! (Remember that amazing Peter Rabbit mobile I did.... like 5 years ago???) Cody will travel to meet the newest skin-puppy of the family with some yarn strung through his belly so that mom can tie him onto the center strand of the mobile. I can't wait to see how it looks with the newest pack member.

I'm happy to put your child's birthday on my calendar as a recurring event with a few weeks notice so that i have time to felt their special treat. 2024, what a year! I closed my shop due to an overwhelmingly long waiting list, but still managed to work on so many beautiful Fiber Friends! Here are 10 of my favorite projects, starting with a VERY FURIOUS Tom. There were lots of corgis this year (and lots of corgis in the future, I hope) plus some adorable cats and creative add-ons.

Thank you to everyone who supported me this year! I am excited to announce that the shop is once again open! You can easily purchase Nubbins, Stubbins and cake toppers via my website. I have decided to screen orders for realistic Fiber Friends so that I only take pets I am sure will be an excellent fit with my style and medium for 100% satisfaction for all involved! Mobiles are always ordered via a conversation so that we can come up with the perfect design for your nursery. If my waiting list spreads out longer than 4-5 months, I will mark items as sold out until things slow down some. Exciting news for everyone who has wanted to place an order for a custom Fiber Friend or who missed out on the Nubbin of their dreams during my Pawliday launch: My shop is once again taking custom orders!!!
With some caveats:

Holiday Nubbins, custom Nubbins, custom Stubbins and cake topper sets are all available on my website to order now! Original Fiber Friends still require that prospective clients fill out my intake form to be sure that your pet is a good fit. My current wait time is only about 3 months! I plan to manage my website in a way that keeps my waiting list to be no longer than 4-5 months max. This means I may occasionally mark some custom pieces as 'out of stock' to limit orders, but the intake form will always be available to submit to so that you don't lose your place in the queue. :)

Second caveat: I am on holiday break for the next two weeks! This means that it may take me a week or so to send a personal confirmation email and schedule your order. But never fear: all orders (and inquiries) will be scheduled in the order they were received.

And third caveat: Corgis will always get approval as a custom Fiber Friend, but some breeds just don't lend themselves well to my work (and as an aging woman I'm prioritizing my finger pokes on the Friends that spark the most joy for me). Most toy breeds and some very silky furred dogs like long haired border collies or golden retrievers will likely be declined. I'm so sorry, but i hope you understand.

I have also spruced up my FAQ page to reflect my current policies. It's a bit of a novel, but has good info if you need it ;)

I hope you are all excited and that if you missed out on that Saint Lucia Nubbin you're invited to order one for your very own self right now :)
